Cookies & Cream Hot Chocolate

This hot chocolate actually has cookies infused in the milk!

Ingredients: Serves 2-4

6 cups
Chocolate chip cookies
Vanilla extract
1 teaspoon
White chocolate
100 g
Whipped cream
Chocolate chips

1. Place 4 cups of milk in a pot, and crumble in the chocolate chip cookies. Bring the milk up to a simmer, and as soon as bubbles develop on the surface, remove from the heat and allow the milk to cool to room temperature. Then strain the milk so that the cookie pieces are removed – now you’ll have cookie-flavoured milk! The cookies will have thickened the milk, so add the additional two cups of milk to thin the milk out again. Then add a few drops of vanilla extract.
2. Reheat the milk in the pot, and add and dissolve the chocolate.
3. Pour the milk into some mugs. Top with plenty of whipped cream and sprinkle on a few chocolate chips.

Story Behind this Recipe

I chose to use white chocolate instead of milk chocolate to create the "cream" component, and the addition of a generous helping of whipped cream really makes a delicious, creamy difference! You can use whatever cookies you like to infuse the milk - I used chocolate chip cookies, but oreos or fudgy cookies would be amazing as well!
